Tarrick Love
Tarrick Love holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee. After graduation from college, Tarrick spent 11 years as a mechanical engineer and project manager for companies including Baxter Healthcare, American Safety Razor, Nissan and Federal Mogul. In his role as a lead project manager for Federal Mogul, in particular, Tarrick led sizable projects in Germany, Hungary, France, Canada and Mexico City, Mexico.
During his travels abroad, his love for architecture and design grew. After returning to the US full-time, he wanted to blend his passion for architecture, design and project management. Residential development and construction was a natural transition for Tarrick’s skills set and experience. In 2006, Tarrick and his wife, Tanisha, established Hart-Love Enterprises, LLC dba Hart-Love Builders.
Tarrick is excited about the explosive growth in the Nashville market. His company’s current capacity is 25 to 40 homes per year. He wants to be able to increase that number as high as 200 annually. To do so, he needs access to capital and the ability to retain a larger share of the deals that he sources. He is also excited about the possibility of building much-needed affordable housing—out of reach for many because of the high cost of land.
“The housing market is explosive but non inclusive,” he said. “There is a lot of pressure to have more affordable homes, but it all starts with the land costs. In the current market, without subsidies, you would lose money building affordable housing.”
Tarrick has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
“In corporate America, they set a glass ceiling. On your own, there is really no ceiling. I want to control my own destiny.”
